Chad

Chad is a fuzzy, curious, lovable, enchanting caterpillar. (He’s 3 or 4-years-old.) Being the youngest of the group, he is just starting to learn about life. He’s social, cuddly, optimistic, likes to dance, has an imaginary playmate, keen sense of humor, and asks "why?" a lot. Chad dreams that he will have wings to fly someday, and hopes to turn into a butterfly.

Chad is impressionable and idealistic and amuses everyone as he tentatively reaches out to explore life’s experiences. He has many legs and is a wonder on the drums.

Caterpillar is the most fascinating of all the characters to kids, and the most lovable and trustworthy. Kids identify with Chad the Caterpillar more than the rest of the forest dwellers. He rated number one as the all around favorite in the testing process. His presence on the show encourages kids of all ages to follow their dreams and believe in themselves no matter what obstacles they may be facing.
