The Wild, Wild West – Episodes 11 & 12
Grampa C tells Chad and Gabriel stories about the Wild, Wild West. His fun-filled stories interest Chad and Gabriel so much that they begin to wear cowboy hats, fringe vests and to walk and talk with a western swagger. They build wooden pole horses to ride and learn to rope cattle. Kitzy Kat is dressed up with steer horns and joins the fun. Freddy cooks up western food and opens a chuck wagon for a big square dance. Grampa C plays the do-se-do on the violin and they all hee-haw.
The Glorps get dressed up in their treetop and join in the fun. This episode is an old-fashioned country holler. Hay is stacked up. Country and western clothing is worn. Cyclic gives educational messages throughout the episode on the history of cowboys, roundups, wild horses, buffalo, Indian tribes of the West, outlaws, and eventually the progress of the railroad. He also tells about the cowboys, cowgirls, Indian tribes, buffalo, etc. of modern time today. Since Jotasha has never participated in anything remotely like a country hoe-down, she especially loves the festivities.
Moral and Value for Episodes 11 & 12 – The Wild, Wild West -
This episode was written to express the various heritages entwined into our past and to help children bridge the gap by learning and participating in a different way. It's fun for children to play Cowboy and pretend that they live in the Wild, Wild West, but do they actually know the history behind the cowboy character that they are playing? Do they actually know that there are still cowboys and cowgirls? That they still ride and rope cattle? That there are still buffalo and Indian tribes? This episode encourages fantasy, creativity and imagination, along with an equal balance of educational history of their Wild, Wild West adventure.
