Take Me Out to the Ball Game – Episodes 17 & 18

A pair of black angel twins from the Angel Worlds of Time and Space come to the Land of I forest for a visit. Gabriel and Abigail are happy to see visitors from their own world. They proudly show Malakia and Melanie off to their Land of I friends.

Malakia and Melanie relay to Chad and Freddy how much Gabriel and Abigail loved to play baseball on their world. Chad and Freddy organize a baseball game in the Land of I. Gabriel and Abigail are captains of the opposing teams and take turns choosing the players that will be on each team.

Gabriel selects Freddy, Chad & Melanie.

Abigail selects Kitzy Kat, Jotasha and Malakia.

Cyclic volunteers to be the catcher for both teams.

Grampa C volunteers to be the scorekeeper.

The ballgame proceeds with much team spirit. Freddy is a hard hitter, but can't run very fast. Abigail is a great pitcher and an average hitter. Gabriel is a great hitter, whereas Chad is a great first base man. The visiting twins are both good hitters and good runners. Kitzy Kat is a great runner and a terrible hitter. Jotasha is a great outfielder and a fast runner.

The game is evenly matched. The score is 4 to 4 in the final inning- Gabriel's team is up to bat with 2 out, 2 down and one hit to go. The bases are loaded. Gabriel hits a home run and the score changes to 8 to 4 (Gabriel's team favor) The next hit is a high ball and is caught by Jotasha. Gabriel's team takes the outfield.

Abigail's team is up for the final inning.

Tension is running high. There are two outs for Abigail's team and it looks like Gabriel's team will win easily. Kitzy Kat and Malakia come up to bat and make it onto bases. Jotasha comes up to bat. She hits a long drive and Kitzy Kat, Malakia and she make it on base. Gabriel is confident Abigail will strike out. The score is still 8 to 4!

Suddenly, Kitzy Kat steals home.

Abigail punts the ball. With lots of errors by Gabriel's team, all three runners on Abigail's team make it to their bases. The bases are once again loaded with Kitzy Kat up to bat. He is a terrible hitter. He strikes out on the first pitch. Then hits a left grounder on the second.

Sweating and wanting to quit so as not to disappoint the team, he calls for a time out! His teammates encourage him to "just try". Cyclic encourages him by telling him it's just a game. Even Gabriel encourages him to at least give it a shot even though Gabriel knows that if Kitzy Kat hits a good line drive, Gabriel's team might stand the chance of losing. Gabriel likes to win!

Kitzy Kat is in a cat dither.

He steps to the bat, spits on his paws, backs into the catcher area with the bat, closes his eyes and swings.

He connects!

The ball goes. It's a home run! Both teams go crazy shouting for Kitzy Kat to open his eyes and RUN! The score changes 9 - 8. Abigail's team wins! Gabriel is a little disappointed, but the joy and praise that Kitzy Kat receives makes up for the disappointment.

Teamwork, fair play and confidence building have ruled the day. Hot dogs and popcorn are enjoyed after in the picnic area by the teams. Baseball songs are in order here.
