The Circus Comes to the Land of I Forest - Episodes 23 - 24

This episode takes place after all of the Land of I forest friends are fast asleep. The show opens at nighttime within their individual homes- the Land of I forest dwellers are going to bed. During the night, everyone is awakened by a strange sound echoing through the air. Wheeeek, wheeeek!

After checking on the other inhabitants to make sure everyone is safe, Gabriel and Abigail immediately dispatch themselves to the forest to find the source of the unfamiliar sound. They fly into the forest, looking for the source of the high-pitched wheeeek.

In the meantime, the remaining friends converge to Jotasha and Cyclic's home to await the angels' return. Gabriel and Abigail return with the news that they didn't see anything unusual in the forest. At that moment, another big wheeek is sounded.

Gabriel shouts, "It's coming from the water near the bridge!"

They all hurry to the bridge and in the water they spot a dolphin. She is trapped in some thick bushes that have fallen into the water and is making a mournful cry. The friends get their pole nets and free her from her trap, clearing away the nasty tree branch.

Her name is Misty the Dolphin. This new guest begins an exciting exploration for the Land of I dwellers as they learn all about the specialness and uniqueness of freshwater dolphins.

They learn that she is intelligent and funny, that she loves tricks almost as much as Gabriel, that she loves to play ball and can throw a ring to them, and that she can count and knows her ABC's. Gabriel falls in love with her and spends every spare moment talking to her.

The friends decide to put on a circus to celebrate Misty's arrival. The party takes place near the bridge to include Misty. Freddy does tricks with Abigail (who's dressed like a ballerina) riding on his back. Gabriel does a high wire act, since he can fly and there is no danger if he falls. Cyclic becomes the ringmaster. Kitzy Kat is dressed like a clown. Jotasha puts Misty the Dolphin through her various paces. The scenery is a circus atmosphere with a big tent. Candy apples by Freddy. Games are played. Wood chips are tossed onto flat stones for prizes. Jotasha is offering cotton candy in three different colors. Balloons are floating on strings. A fun day in the Land of I forest.

The value of this episode is in learning about other species. Imagination and creativity in planning the circus party. Planning, imagination for each other's roles, play acting, costumes and teamwork to pull it off. We are left with the sense that Misty will be returning from time to time to visit the Land of I forest and her new friends.
